Day 3 – Getting Settled and Exploring SoHo

Oct 18, 2025

Day 3 was a nice mix of being productive, staying active, and exploring more of New York. In the morning, some of us went to get a gym membership at Planet Fitness and did our first workout there. It felt great to finally get back into a bit of routine after all the walking and eating from the past few days. While part of the group was at the gym, the others went to Target to pick up some essentials like water, paper towels, and snacks, all the basic things we needed for the apartment. Once everyone was done, we met up again and went for lunch at Raising Cane’s, which is right next to Madison Square Garden. The food was delicious and definitely hit the spot after the workout. After lunch, we decided to split up for the afternoon. Some people wanted to do a bit of shopping, while others preferred to keep exploring the city. A few of us walked from the Empire State Building all the way down to SoHo, making a little detour to see the Friends apartment building along the way (definitely a fun stop).

We spent the rest of the day wandering through SoHo, checking out the shops, cafés, and soaking up the atmosphere. The weather was perfect, and by the end of the day, we’d done thousands of steps without even realizing it.

To end the day, we went to the High Line at night. The view was absolutely stunning, the city lights, the calm atmosphere, and the skyline all around us made it the perfect way to wrap up the day.
