Day 7 – Icehockey and Work

Today was a bit more special, as we planned to visit an ice hockey match in New Jersey: the New Jersey Devils against the Minnesota Wild.
We all got up a bit earlier, since we had to leave work sooner than usual to meet back home at 5 p.m.
As I reached my daily work goal earlier than expected, I could leave an hour ahead of schedule and take some time to relax. I already knew we wouldn’t be back before midnight, and we had to get up early the next day.
After some time, the others arrived, and we made our way to the metro, heading to Hudson Yards Station, where we caught a taxi to the Prudential Center, the home of the New Jersey Devils. The ride took about an hour.
At the stadium, we were impressed by how tall the building was. It wasn’t particularly wide or long, but it rose like a ten-story tower. Inside, we initially struggled to find our seats, but after a few minutes of searching, we finally made it.
The match itself wasn’t particularly spectacular, but the entire show around it was something special. There were mascots trying to fire up the crowd, and a mix of music and light effects that took some time to get used to. From Kiss Cams to Dance-Offs, they really had everything.
The Devils played a strong game, and with a final score of 4–1, we left the stadium in great spirits. The ride Home also wasn’t that long, so we accually could go to bed before 12 a.m.
