The penultimate Sunday of our New York Stay was a whirlwind of energy and culture. We started the day early to catch the 2025 New York City Marathon, and we got really close to the runners. Feeling the wind as they rushed past and hearing the crowd cheering was incredible. You could see every emotion on their faces. Exhaustion, pride, determination and we made sure to cheer them on as loudly as we could. We shouted encouragement and joined the wave of excitement that filled the streets.
After the marathon, we crossed over to Brooklyn to explore some of its quieter suburbs. The contrast with Manhattan was refreshing. The area there is cozier and feels more down-to-earth. Later in the day, we went for dinner at an authentic Italian restaurant tucked away in one of Brooklyn’s corners. It felt like a hidden gem. We ordered pasta, and it tasted like something straight out of Italy. Simple, flavorful, and full of comfort.
By the time we finally made it back, we were exhausted but happy. Between cheering at the marathon, discovering new corners of Brooklyn, and sharing good food, it felt like one of those perfect New York days. The day was full of energy, surprises, and memories we’ll laugh about for a long time.
