Day 10 - Central Park, Harlem, and Wandering the City
Oct 25, 2025
After a very full week and many intense program visits, today was finally a slower day and honestly we needed it. We slept in for the first time since arriving and took the morning to simply rest and reset. It felt good to not rush, not schedule, not have a fixed timeline, just experience New York at our own pace.
Later in the morning we split up into smaller groups and headed out. Our group decided to walk down from Harlem into Central Park and already on the way we felt how different this city can be within just a few blocks. Central Park itself was much bigger than we expected. We spent time walking through different paths, taking pictures, and enjoying the calmness right in the middle of Manhattan. We also visited the big lake in the park which looked almost unreal surrounded by all the skyscrapers.
Afterwards we continued our walking tour further downtown until we reached Penn Station. There we grabbed lunch at Raising Cane’s and after that we went to NoHo, explored some streets, and did a bit of shopping. Today was less about meetings and more about simply being present in the city, seeing neighborhoods, people, and just absorbing New York slowly step by step.
It wasn’t a day full of appointments or presentations, but it was exactly what we needed. A walking day. A day to just enjoy the moments in between. Sometimes this is also part of the experience to not rush, to breathe, and to simply discover the city in our own rhythm.
