Day 23 – Tasks, Treats, and a Tase of New York

With our departure just around the corner, the morning started with a bit of coordination. The different work groups went over what still needed to be done and distributed the remaining tasks among their members so that everything can be wrapped up cleanly next week. It was a focused few hours, and everyone was set on finishing things properly before we head out.
By around 4:30, once work was done, we switched gears for some downtime. The afternoon turned into a relaxed shopping spree, we wandered through busy streets and small local shops, browsing and picking up a few pieces of jewelry. We also stopped at one of the vending machines selling Inciardi prints to get a small NYC souvenir, which was a nice touch. Somewhere along the way, we treated ourselves to matcha ice cream.
Dinner was the highlight of the day. We finally made it to Katz’s Delicatessen to try their famous pastrami on rye, which absolutely lived up to its reputation. For a bit of variety, a few of us opted for a nearby vegan restaurant instead. Back at home, the evening wrapped up comfortably with a friendly but competitive round of Monopoly.
